Position Summary
The Technical Recruiting Lead is a critical role within a growing Service‑Disabled Veteran‑Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) supporting U.S. Government and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. This position is responsible for leading end‑to‑end recruiting efforts for technical, cleared, and professional services roles that support prime contractors and government programs.
The role is highly execution‑focused, with approximately 90% of responsibilities dedicated to full‑lifecycle recruiting and talent strategy. The remaining 10% supports financial and administrative activities related to staffing, onboarding, and compliance typical of a small government‑contracting organization.
Primary Responsibilities
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition (90%)
Lead full‑lifecycle recruiting for technical, engineering, IT, and professional roles supporting government and DoD contracts
Partner closely with executive leadership, program managers, and prime‑contractor stakeholders to understand contract requirements, staffing forecasts, and skill needs
Develop and execute recruiting strategies aligned with government contracts, proposal pipelines, and near‑term surge staffing requirements
Source candidates through professional networks, referrals, cleared‑talent communities, job boards, industry events, and targeted outreach
Conduct resume reviews, phone screens, and interviews to assess technical qualifications, clearance eligibility, and cultural alignment
Manage and maintain candidate pipelines, ensuring accuracy and compliance within recruiting and tracking systems
Coordinate interview logistics and feedback with internal leadership and external partners
Support offer development, compensation alignment, and candidate negotiations in coordination with leadership
Oversee onboarding coordination to ensure compliance with government, prime contractor, and internal requirements
Maintain a strong employer brand that reflects the company’s SDVOSB status, veteran leadership, and mission‑driven culture
Ensure recruiting and hiring practices comply with federal labor regulations, government‑contracting requirements, and company policies
Track and report recruiting metrics such as time‑to‑fill, pipeline health, and hiring outcomes
Financial & Administrative Support (10%)
Support recruiting‑related financial tracking, including labor rates, offer cost data, and staffing inputs for proposals or contract support
Assist with onboarding documentation, personnel files, and compliance records in coordination with finance and operations
Maintain accurate staffing and headcount data to support contract execution and reporting
Provide administrative support for recruiting activities, including scheduling, documentation management, and internal reporting
Support audits, reviews, or data requests related to staffing, employment, or contract compliance
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
3+ years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience, preferably within government contracting, DoD, or regulated environments
Demonstrated experience managing full‑cycle recruiting for technical or specialized roles
Strong understanding of government‑contracting environments, including teaming arrangements and prime/sub relationships
Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Experience recruiting for cleared positions or familiarity with security clearance processes
Prior experience working within a small business or SDVOSB
Exposure to proposal staffing, labor category mapping, or rate coordination
Familiarity with federal contracting compliance requirements
